1. What are withdrawal fees?
These are fees charged by mobile money agents, when a recipient withdraws money from their mobile money wallet.
2. Should I add the withdrawal fees when making a payment?
Adding the withdrawal fees means you will top-up the payment amount you are sending in order to cater for the recipient’s withdrawal fees. Not adding will require the recipient to cater for their own withdrawal fees.
3. How do I add the withdrawal fees?
You can add the fees by checking the “withdrawal fees” option when making a payment.
4. How are the withdrawal fees calculated?
The fee is automatically calculated by Onafriq system (based on the current telco tariffs) once you enter a payment amount and select the checkbox at the top of the “Withdrawal Fee” column.
5. Can I calculate the fees by myself?
Yes, you can, in case you want to do your own calculations or if you do not want to add the fees, uncheck the checkbox at the top of the “Withdrawal Fee” column.
6. Does the withdrawal fee apply when sending airtime?
No, withdrawal fees only apply when sending mobile money and as such, the “Withdrawal Fee” column will not populate when sending airtime.
7. Are the withdrawal fees updated?
These fees are only estimates. The telecom networks change the withdrawal fees from time to time. We endeavor to keep our calculations up to date, but may not be notified of a change in fees in a timely manner. If you notice any wrong fees, please contact us via portal-support@onafriq.com and we shall update them immediately.
